| KDM (.501) 700 Grain WFNGC ...I was using a custom shop 16 1/4" braked .500 S&W Encore handgun,Warne steel base with quad rings. Shot at the Kaukauna sportsmen club range at 50 yds. The test media was 4 feet of 2 day water soaked newspaper in plastic bags inside a box and compacted with a piece of oak on the bottom for rigitity. First loads of 28 grains of Lil Gun in Hornady brass with Fed 210 primers went through the crony at 1298, 1294, 1296, 1295. I used this load to give a basic 50 yard sight in, then ran 29.0 of Lil gun with the 700's, velocity ran 1351, 1345 and 1348. First shot in wet newspaper went 40". The next round went 37". Recovered bullets and pictures are self explanitory. Then ran Barnes 375 grain with 35.5 Lilgun but seated out further than load data shows. Can not crimp as there is no crimp groove. Velocities ran 1725, 1720 and 1680. They only penetrated 16"!!!!! No leading what so ever and although I wasn't shooting for accuracy they stayed in 1 1/2" at 50 yards. I will shoot for accuracy next time. I was really impressed with the penetration of the 700's. The quality is second to none and Kevin is a one of a kind Friend. I will be using his bullets exclusively!! It was about 80 degrees outside with no wind and there were alot of people watching the 700's go off. I do not think that 29 grs. of Lilgun is max but what else can you ask for except a 78" Moose or a 475 point Monark in your sights and down for the count !!! Pete Photo Links |

Just FYI...finally made it to the range to try out the Grizzly ammo. It is
quite pleasant to shoot and surprisingly accurate. About a 3/4 inch group
at 100 yards.
